What is Import & Export?
Import & Export lets you:
- Export questions and answers to CSV
- Import questions and answers from CSV
- Migrate data from other systems

Available on Pro and Ultra plans. The Free plan does not include this feature.

Export Questions
- Exports all questions to CSV
- Includes product info, customer info, votes, timestamps
- File name: questions-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv
- 11 columns including question_export_id, productId, question, etc.
Export Answers
- Exports all answers to CSV
- Links to questions via question_export_id
- File name: answers-export-YYYY-MM-DD.csv
- 8 columns including question_export_id, answer, authorName, etc.
How to export: Go to Import & Export → Click “Export Questions” or “Export Answers”

Two-step process
- Step 1: Import Questions — Required: question_export_id, productId, question
- Step 2: Import Answers — Required: question_export_id, answer (must match imported questions)
File format
- Format: CSV (UTF-8 encoding)
- Required columns vary by type (see detailed FAQs)
- Optional columns available for additional data
How to import: Go to Import & Export → Select type → Upload CSV → Click “Upload and Import”
Quick tips
- Always import questions before answers
- Use unique question_export_id values
- Verify product IDs exist in Shopify
- Test with small files first
- Review error messages after import
Common issues
- Missing required columns → Check CSV format
- Duplicate IDs → Ensure unique question_export_id values
- Answers not linking → Import questions first, match IDs exactly
- Invalid dates → Use ISO 8601 format: YYYY-MM-DDTHH:mm:ss.sssZ
